Heading for the mountains.

Our family goes to a small town in Central Colorado every other summer for a week or so. Typically our stays are about five or six days, with two days of travel on either side. This summer's trip will be a full week "in country", our longest yet. And all the "there" time is in the same cabin, another first. So, we're in full-on shopping/packing/planning mode at the moment. Toiletries are taken care of for the family, the kids are starting to think about what they're packing and Jim should be at least a little packed from just coming back from his solo trip to CO, just this last week. I think I have mostly every thing I need, now it's to organize and plan/pack. The plan looks great in my head, no guesses as to actual practice.

I blog, apparently

Well, here we are again. I don't have a good reason for the blog hiatus, really. To be truthful, I hadn't really thought about it much in a long time, until very recently. Even then, it was "you know, that could be fun..." The revolving cycle of good ideas. So what brought it up this was our upcoming trip to Colorado. The idea of working on a fun project on a trip is appealing to me, and so I enrolled in a "make yourself a better photographer" course, to do during the trip using the beautiful Colorado mountains as photo subjects for course projects. Which lead to wanting somewhere to put the photos up where people could see them. Oh, and write about them. So, blog. I did change up the look if you'll notice. The background has kind of a Charlotte Perkins Gilman thing going on, don't you think? I'm not sure it's a permanent change yet, we'll see how it grows on me. And you.
